Mr YOYO,

Whichever one you buy will be the best one on the market.....

I have a Nissan Patrol and an EvaKool ED40 Fridge and they are the best things ever invented and marketed in this or any other country bar none.

Joe Bloggs has a Landcruiser and an Engel and they are the best things ever invented and marketed in this or any other country bar none.

Fred Smith has a Pajero and a Waeco and they are the best things ever invented and marketed in this or any other country bar none.

I think there is no correct answer to this question. You just have to suck it and see like the rest of us.... and whichever one you choose, you will find it is the best thing ever invented and marketed in this or any other country bar none.

I'm very impressed with the EvAkools... You get the combination of an excellent, well-insulated Australian box, with the Danfoss compressor.

Hi Don,

Off topic but I think I may owe you an apology? Were you (or maybe just your rig) cut off by a same colour 80 Series wearing an 'L' Plate and an EO Sticker at the top of the northbound on ramp at the Deception Bay overpass last Friday about midday? *sigh* A tense moment for me, but she's getting better! :-S

Moses!

That is downright blasphemous, libelous, derogatory, defamatory and scandalous - it was Rock Crawler who was on all fours 'sniffin around' (as you so eloquently put it) the Waeco girls.

Now if you had said the OBC Twins then that would be a different story.

There is no "best", only what serves your purpose in your price range. Both fridges you nominated have good and bad points, it is up to you to do a bit of investigating and to see if you are a "good fit" for one or the other.

Quite simply, we cannot tell you which is "best" as you have given NO indication of its intended use. If we did in fact tell you which to buy, and it turned out to not suit you needs who are you going to blame????? Not really a fair and reasonable question when you look at it that way, is it?

Money can pay for everything except intelligence. Do your homework and work out what suits YOU. Take note of the other brands that have been mentioned here too.

Waeco is the better fridge in my opinion, looks more modern, weighs less, has an interior light, uses less power, is cheaper to purchase, wont rust and has always supplied me with ice cold beer. One of the best additions we made to our camping setup. Don't let them tell you dearer is better, the engel owners try to justify there purchase with that one every time.

Performance wise they are about the same, so have a look at the features and price and enjoy your new fridge..
