hi macca
had a look at your photos, you need your own cooking show the photos are sensational, i can see it macca takes on nigela in the bush.
i have one of the earlier model cobbs and it will not circulate the heat to the top to brown anything. in the end was using it with a trivet and more heat beads and rotated it to stop burning the base. used good quality heat beads and didn't open the lid to let the heat out.
well done and i like the look of this fickr site
regards peter

Peter,

I can't understand why the heat wouldn't have circulated as well on your earlier model.

I had a mark II Cobb cooker until recently.
Now it's more like a Cobb II point 5.

The plastic base finally gave up the ghost and cracked beyond repair. (I think I may have shut the storage bin lid on it.

Bought a "premium" base for $80 and upgraded it to the latest model.

I have cheated though after reading of problems with the mesh base, so I also purchased a Cobb Bra for it.

Just love using the Cobb though, both at home and while camping.

I think the Red made the difference.

Macca, superb as usual - how many were you cooking for??

Did a roast pork on the cobb last night - 8 beads (good quality) and a trivet. Rub salt and a little oil on rind, put on for 40 mins. turned and left abt 45 mins. - beautiful and I got the crackling just right!

Forgot to take a photo ;-((

Cheers

Man, you must be loaded! Who can afford Rack of Lamb these days? My absolute fav but the price of Lamb is dearer than the price of a Lambo(ghini). Enough BS. The Lamb looked great, and the suckling pig, now that was something else. Well done. where does one get a Cobb Cooker?

I'd of given the chops another 10 minutes. Like my chops a bit on the well done side.
Excellent stuff Macca keep thinking I'd better buy a Cobb, by the time I do they will no doubt be $300 or more.
