A National Gathering is not measured by the number of miles travelled to get there but by the number of new friendships made and old ones rekindled.

The design with the

Joe,
The design with the
fridge
sitting on top of the drawers is also more practical when you don't have the
fridge
on board.
The Black Widow system I have has a flush mounted slide which gives you a totally flat surface for storing and carrying other goods.
If you have the
fridge
down low and two drawers stacked on top of each other, you have no flat space in the rear.
I have no problem with the 40 litre Engel sitting in the back of the Jack. My wife gets by, as the Jackaroo has a built-in step at the rear, so she just steps up to reach into the
fridge
when it's in the vehicle.
I tend to remove the
fridge
when we camp so any perceived problem is eliminated altogether.
It gets down to what "compromise" suits you best.
My suggestion is to work out what method suits your individual use and also taking into consideration how big the
fridge
is and go from there.
Most manufacturers have a range of different configurations to choose from.

Bruce,
I freight to Perth at cost.
If you want to view a set of drawers I can put you in touch with someone. Not really necessary as I offer a FULL money back guarantee. If you're not happy with it, put it back on the truck and I'll pay the fright both ways.
Regards,
Jim

I was gonna say talk to Jim. Freight to Perth would still make this a cheaper alternative with a better quality IMHO

fridge
slide and home made shelves. Everything looked great until we hooked up the AVan and took off.
Beware! Don't put the
fridge
slide on the same side as the rear door hinge! You cant pull the
fridge
out any more than one third as the door fouls on the van A frame.
Also the Black Widow is a reasonable slide but does catch some times if the
fridge
is fully loaded.

G'day Mal & Di,
With respect, it sounds like you need to have a re-think on your hitch arrangement.
You should be able to open your rear door/s without them fouling on something on the trailer's A frame. THAT would be a regular PITA, irrespective of whether you had a drawer system or
fridge
etc......
Cheers mate

Roachie,
Maybe I forgot to mention I have built an outboard bracket and brought the two gas bottles forward, but it is still a pain in the butt.
It would be a lot easier on the left side.

Mal why not talk to BW and See if you can arrange to have the slide changed to the other side??
They are good people who are pretty accommodating.

Have Black Widow system in 120 Prado, slide on hinge side have 40lt Engel. Works well for me, have to open
fridge
top when sliding out so it can go between body and door to fully open lid (catches on top lip of door). Can usually get bottles ect out with out a problem, if big items need top fully open only time need to go between door and body.
Cheers
