Description of Coloured Sands
To get to coloured sands you drive to Hopevale go to Service station and obtain a permit for $10.00 and you will recieve a mud map of how to get there road is rough watch the bridges able to get to the beach in a AWD vehicle but require a 4WD to drive across the beach on low tide well worth the trip takes around 45 minutes of driving to get there.When there advise against walking the short distance across the beach to get to the coloured sands beach as there is a large aggressive crocodile that lives here.When you get to the last part of the road you come to a T in the road left to beach right to
camping grounds have not gone to them due to my Ford Territory AWD and being by ourselves as it is very sandy and requires good ground clearance.Last note beware the fool hardy as there is quite a few stories of people setting off there EPBS down there and they were in 4WD's.
