I am sure somewhere these figures are published, or have been at some time.
Have you ever wondered what topic brings the highest number of Replies, Follow ups or
views.
I notice sometimes some
topics are viewed more that 1000 times (eg Patrol going BANG - over 1300
views) some
topics get over 25 replies
Perpaps ExplorOz should give a prize to whoever creates the most VIEWED, Followed Up or REPLIED post??

Truckie,
At least the moderators left it for a few days while everyone had a good belly laugh.
Good humour mate.

Yes but security needs to be beefed up. Try repeat clicking on "open thread" as fast as you can, don't let it open just flat out clicking....How do you think Truckster got his 3000
views...hahaha

views so high it was someone else but that doesn't matter. The great "
views fraud" has been exposed

Of course he new record is 900 000 hits in ten days over at Pirate4x4 for the "Ring and Pinion for sale" Charlie Wenzel thread. 73 pages of 25 post/page with some posts a couple of screenpages in themselves. Nice way to kill a day reading.

"Perpaps ExplorOz should give a prize to whoever creates the most VIEWED, Followed Up or REPLIED post?? "
As pointed out the the number of
views or replies to a post provides just about no clues as to information/entertainment value of as a post. The main drawback of rating a post by the number of
views is that it is not possible to see what the main bulk of the post is until you view it...you can get lured in by 'suggestive" headings. With respect to number of replies...I have seen a few that are just people talking to each other about nothing in particular. Also sometimes good information emerges in a post and has no relevance to the heading or initial post. Anyway, I see some forums have a rating system where you can rate a post (or "thread") 1 to 10 or something ..(havent paid much attention) and I think you can also rate the person posting as
well.(works for Australian Idol:)..probably a better way than just most viewed or replied to (by itself).
Cheers
Greg

Normally the most viewed posts are the spurious ones, simply because there is no intimate knowledge required to participate in them, only an opinion. I have noticed that if the subject line has the words warranty, lies, 4WD bashing, dishonest or anything suggesting a traversty of justice the readership is greater. This probably says something about human nature.
I just wish the search function would search follow-ups as
well as replies.
