Well it has been 12 months since my last trip (CSR) so tomorrow morning I am 'back on the road' again and heading up to
Cape York for 1 month
I have set up a couple of web pages so those of you who are interested can follow me using my SPOT messenger
I find the jason website is easier to navigate, easier and quicker to load, you can leave or view messages and the trip stays there as a permanent record
I hope to be mobile by 7:00am from Wagga heading towards
Bourke
If you have the time, and the inclination,
check out my progress
KiwiAnglers jason web tracking pageKiwiAnglers SPOT web tracking page
Basically I will be using the ExploreOz notes for the trek
Site Link
Cya in a months time :-) off to bed now to try and get some shut eye

Maybe Geoff might let me go with you next time. Please dont freeze like you did a couple of weeks ago on our night drive, when you decided to
camp out.......lol.
Have a wonderful trip and we will be tracking you to see where you get to. And remember....what happens on your trip stays on your trip.........wink wink..........
Travel safe and see you when you get back.

Cook Hwy.

Gidday guys and guyesses
Well I am sitting here on the bank of a small river just 5km North of
Coen sipping a rum and coke in my shorts and tee :-)
The run up has been great no problems and very enjoyable
The road into Musgrave was like a highway, smooth as a babies bottom and the road between Musgrave and
Coen much the same - ,lotys of raod works and I would say this time next year it will all be tarseled.
Thanks for all the
well wishes and it is good to see that you are following me and keeping an eye on me :-))
Will be in touch later on
Cheers and beers

Terry,
Great to hear everything is going
well for you.
There are some lovely little sandy creeks all the way up the cape from what I can remember.
I have a look at your SPOT web page most afternoons.
Sounds to me like the cape has changed since I went there all those years ago!
Enjoy the rest of your trip,
Geoff

Well Guys and Guyesses
I got back to Wagga today at about noon (but I know you already knew that as some of you were following me via spot:-) I had an amazing time with the only damage being a small chip on the windscreen due to a road train flicking a rock up as it passed me.
Highlights were (in no particular order):
what a great country I live in
bush camping
Palm Grove camp site - Cairnes
historic
places and buildings
Porcupine Gorge
start of OTT
Nolans
Creek crossing
Brumbies, snakes,brolgas,bush turkeys,Emus,crocs,barras,sting ray,water snakes.
Captain Billys Landing
Elim Beach - cloured sands
Chilli Beach - polluted beach
"The Tip"
Cape Melvil
the 2 mates I travelled with
portable fridges and freezers - cold beer and rum and coke sitting in chair looking at stars in the pitch black.
home and my own bed
Thanks for following me on my journey - dont just think about doing it! - DO IT!
cheers and beers
K.A.
