I have no idea grant and sandy - and many others also may have no idea what you are asking about. Do you have a web link or any other detail about the product. I had a vision of someone out in rough sees holding themselves above water clutching an empty coke bottle in each hand LOL.

I know of a guy who got Meningitis from drinking from a clear running stream, ruined his life. So getting it right is important. Michael

G & S
Ive had the 20litre lifesver bottle for 3 + years. We have used it from the cape and all through the 'outback areas of Qld NSW NT and SA. I have filled it wth water from a variety of sources (muddy, brackish, puddles, dams etc) and havent had a problem with it. I use it by first filling another jerry and letting it settle a bit then pouring into the lifesaver jerry n drinking from that.
So far we have not had a problem, and I have a touchy stoach at the best of times thru an earlier bout of giardia.

PS sometimes there can be odd tastes in the water but nothing real offensive, if it is too bad i just add a bit of fruit just to dilute it in my drinking utensil.

Not tried the bottles but I do have a life straw in my grab kit, very light not as bulky as I thought it would be. Of course I hope I never have to use it

Don't believe they work on salt or brakish water?
