Everything you Need to Know

What is ExplorOz Tracker?

ExplorOz Tracker automatically records your journey as you travel — creating a clear timeline of your route, daily stops and travel statistics that you can view, replay and share online.

Tracker is available through both the standalone ExplorOz Tracker app and within the ExplorOz Traveller app.

How Tracker Works

Tracker uses your device’s GPS to record your movement as you travel. It is not a satellite tracker — it relies on your device’s GPS and, when online, your internet connection to upload tracking data to your account.
  • When you are offline, Tracker continues recording your journey on the device.
  • Once you reconnect to the internet (mobile or Wi-Fi), your trip data automatically syncs and your online map updates to show your full journey.
Tracking records GPS points to build a route line on a map showing where you’ve travelled, with automatic daily stop markers and travel stats you can revisit anytime.

Using Tracker in the Traveller App

With an active ExplorOz Membership, you can enable Tracker inside the Traveller app. This allows you to record your device’s tracking and sync it to your Explorer account from within Traveller.

When using Tracker in Traveller you’re viewing the tracking data for your own device only.

Using the Standalone Tracker App

The standalone ExplorOz Tracker app (free to download from your app store) also enables tracking with your Member account — and it adds the ability to:
  • view multiple tracked devices in one place
  • monitor several devices on one map screen
Both the Traveller app and the standalone Tracker app share the same tracking service and sync to your ExplorOz account.

Why Use Tracker

Most travellers use Tracker as a travel diary and trip log. It allows you to:
  • See exactly where you travelled each day
  • Review distances, time travelled, and movement patterns
  • Automatically mark overnight stops
  • Share your travels with others (if you choose)
  • Keep a rich visual record of your journey online or via the app interfaces

Membership Requirement

To record and save your own trips with tracking, you need an ExplorOz Membership.

You can download the Tracker app for free and view shared public trips without a Membership, but recording your own live tracking requires Membership.

Enquiries

If you have enquiry you are welcome to contact us directly. We are a very small, privately operated family business and we do not confine our workplace to a fixed office and are often working on the road performing app testing, mapping and content surveys/updates. When we work remotely, we use StarLink (satellite wifi) to ensure we stay reachable even if we're in the remote Australian outback.

Please contact us via the Help Desk (use tab below) which works like email. This ensures effective correspondence tracking. Using the Help Desk reaches David and Michelle directly.

If you require a call back, please leave your phone number in your support request.

Once movement has been detected outside the Geofence you've got assigned, a map will appear in the My Tracking Control Panel with the label "Active Tracking". If you have more than 1 device in your account, each device that has been tracking will have it's own map. Management of tracking is done per device - includes Clear, Save, and Edit options. Please refer to the Tracker User Manual for more information.
