Tjukayirla Roadhouse

G'day all, just to let you know, the GCR is currently closed from Laverton to the Shire Boundary (134km's East of the Roadhouse)
We have had 40mm of rain here up to this morning, and Laverton is currently getting heavy rain, 30mm so far and more forecast for the rest of the day..
Warburton has had a bit over 2 inches for the last few days also.
Will keep you updated .
We used to be able to log in to the rd conditions section here to update it here, but it seems to have gone through some changes?

Glad to hear your getting a break from the crowds with the road closure. at least the surrounding country side will get a drink and turn green for a while. Thank you for the information I shall be coming through about the 20/6/13. and hope it is dry then.

Thanks for the "heads up" out there,----hope to be stopping overnight with you on or about 18th May on our way to the Connie Sue .---Sure hope it dries up a bit by then,---will eagerly await your updates.-----keep up the good work.

Great Central from Laverton to the Shire Boundary (134km's East of Roadhouse) is now open to 4x4 and vehicles under 3 tonne, with care. Shire boundary to NT border is open to all vehicles.
We had a total of around 57mm of rain here at the roadhouse, and there has been similar rain at Warburton. so take care if travelling.

Road is now open to all vehicles. Although I would check the NT road conditions for the Docker River side before travel, as I believe there is still a fair bit of water on the road there.
