Free camping in Geelong

Can anyone tell if and where there is
free camping in Geelong or near by please we are starting our
grey nomad trip in October and we want to start in Geelong
So any help would be great

Hi Win,
Cant help with Geelong but I would suggest that you buy a copy of Camps Australia which is available through the
shop on this site. Commonly called camps 7 it lists a very large number of free camps across the counrty, and will very quickly pay for itself.
A word of caution though, free camps are more common away from the major
population areas, so you do need to be flexible and be prepared either to move on or to go to a caravan park sometimes. Some free camps can become very busy and crowded and sometimes they are spoiled by an accumulation of rubbish and other nasties.

Thank you Val we do have the book but number 6 we have also just brought the boiling Billie book as
well .
We know that the
camp sites can get crowed and yes we are prepared to move on but thank you so much your info is very much appreciated thank you hope to see you on the road

There is
free camping beside the two BP service stations on the Hi way at Little River. There about 10 minutes on the northern side of Geelong.

check that one out don't mind if it 10 or 30 minutes out we are just looking for like a base
camp and we can explore all round that area
