Hi Guys,
First time heading west since we arrived in
Chinchilla. Friends from SA have suggested that as we'll be in
Cunnamulla for kids footy carnival and them in Innaminka, we're relatively close so ought to "pop" over.
Looking at newer maps it looks like the majority of the road is now sealed - is this right? Not that dirt worries us, more calculating travel times.
We'll have three days at least in Innaminka, should we base ourselves in town or try to head out further? We'll all be in Landcruisers, towing camper trailers.
How much water is in the Cooper at the moment? Is it worth dragging the tinny on and off the top of the CT each night for use once we get there?

And just to cover all bases, I better
check our friends will be able to get through from
Adelaide through to Innaminka - think they're going via
Broken Hill but not 100% sure - they want as much bitumen as possible to start with.

make sure you
check the roads before you leave to go via
Broken Hill we are having a damp patch the
Broken Hill Tiboburra has been closed several times in the last 3 weeks
does not take long to dry out but as it gets wetter it is harder to stay dry

jothefw, just few dusty dirt sections. Nice travelling from
Thargomindah and plenty of wildlife early morning to entertain the kids.
This clip was taken around
easter so you better
check the road reports:

When you go that way take the daily papers ie Courier Mail, Chronicle,
Dalby Herald and the latest Chinny news and drop them off at the
shop in
Westmar, he will love you for it as he doesn't get them unless someone drops them off for him.
I always take them now when heading that way.
It is a nice run from Chinny to
St George via
Condamine, Meandarra,
Westmar. Although another way is Chinny,
Condamine,
Surat and down that way.
St George is about half way to
Cunnamulla as
well.
Cheers Kev

Thanks for the info everyone. Looks like we'll be watching and waiting for the road conditions for the SA section to Innaminka! As my best mate is not a keen "bush" camper I'm hoping the trips a good one, she's only doing it as it's the easiest way to see us!
