Guy’s,
What can you tell me about the disco V8’s, what’s the fuel economy like, I know someone with an old 4.0L range rover and he reckons no matter what your doing you get the same fuel economy,- towing a trailer/horse float/caravan 4km/l, sand work 4km/l, going to the shops 4km/l, can any one tell me what the 3.9l V8i is like on the fuel usage.
Thanks
Mik

Ferret's close to the money. Had one for about 150,000 and that's more or less what you can expect. Towed a pop-top off road Jayco some years back and didn't go easy on the pedal ..... got about 3.7 - 4 k/l
Top rigs but THIRSTY MONGRELS.

My 3.9 Range Rover Auto without the roofrack on highway drive gives me 16L/100k. With with the roof rack on the highway, about 18L/100k. Off road low range work 23L/100k. I never do the k/litre thing because you need decimals to tell the difference, perhaps thats why the mate get 4 for everything. Anyway you do the math :-) my head hurst :-)

Crazy-Mik,
My Rangie with the 3.5 carby engine does about 15L/100 on a very good day, have got to 25L/100 in the sand, mind you it was fun and it sounded good...........Keep the shiny side up

My TDi get's about 9L/100kms. I havn't had it too long but after the first couple of tanks in mixed drving conditions, that's what I'm getting. Sure, it's a bit slow off the mark but it'll always pull me through the tough stuff. I'm glad I did it...
