I was at the Qeanbeyan 4x4 show yesterday & the one stand had a gadget callet a "Tuneit" supposedly designed to do all sorts of wondrous things for Diesel engines. Costs around $1200... a rip off or do these work? Are they worth the money

sounds like one of the electronic interceptor modules - unichip etc. they basically allow the tuner to alter the various
feedback signals for the electronic injection system, and hence alter the state of tune on the engine. They can allow for good increases in efficiency over the 'one size fits all' factory settings. Only buy a proven version from a workshop experienced in their fitting and tuning (dyno tune preffered) . Some are hard wired in the loom, others are 'plug and play' style. if your vehicle is standard ie- standard air filter element , exhaust etc.. then probably not worth the coin.. Hope this helps,Moo... everyone knows what a Jackaroo looks like :-)
