I am very interested in hearing from anyone that uses, or has used in the past, or is considering using Windows Gadgets. In particular, Gadgets such as weather reports, or traffic reports. Or Gadgets that report road conditions or local events that might be of interest to the Aussie explorer.
PS. Windows 7 users will know them as Gadgets. Windows Vista users will know it as the Sidebar.

Gee, aren't I lucky. As a late comer to Win 7 it was not on my distribution so I have not had to get rid of it. In fact I had not heard of these gadgets until this thread came along.

Thanks Chris ;)
Peter, you can
check if you have gadgets by right clicking on your desktop. If gadgets appears in the menu, then you have them.

For those that do not know what gadgets are (like the Mod that deleted my previous thread warning of this), gadgets are the fore runner of Apps. What we know as Apps today was called Gadgets yesterday. Almost anything there is an App for, there is a Gadget too. Like gadgets for road conditions, weather reports, maps, time, events etc, etc.
They changed Gadgets to Apps because of the security issues of Gadgets...but not before gadgets were included with both Windows 7 and Vista.
If your are concerned, you can use the link that Chris has given above. Or you can right click on your desktop. Then click on gadgets in the menu. A window will open showing all your gadgets. At the bottom right corner is a link that says "get more gadgets online" click on that link. It will take you directly to Microsoft's Windows website. There you can read about the risks and they offer solutions to fix the issue.
