My Caravan has two roof hatches which are both the same. To open them there is a centre bar which you pull past a large central knob, you push the knob so as to allow the bar to get past it.
You then pull the bar away from the knob end and the sides of the bar can locate in various channels each side of the hatch, to give you a variety of opening heights of the hatch.
Also the hatch has two sliding blinds, one is a night blind, the other is a fly screen. These slide to the left or right of the hatch, are internally fixed in a track on the hatch.
What is the brand name of this type of hatch and who markets them? Regards G.T.

It's made by Dometic I believe. We have one of these in our van. I think Dometic refer to them as skylights.

Hi GT,
They are also the ones used by Jayco in their Heritage and Sterling models at least that I know of.

The replacement bottom section which carries the blind and fly screen are available from any Jayco dealer and the last replacement I got (5 months ago) cost $180. through my local Jayco dealer.

They are normally fitted either fore and aft as mine are and it appears from your description they can be fitted east - west as well.

The replacements are slightly different in that the fly screen no longer has the spring loaded return but is a folded arrangement, much like a ladies fan and is completely manual in operation.

Cheers, Bruce.
At home and at ease on a track that I know not and
restless and lost on a track that I know. HL.

Dometic Seitz skylight by the sounds of it... have one at the rear of our van...highly useful, very effective....we have a Fantastic hatch at the front... that is also a total winner.
