Hi Hazza, Welcome to ExplorOz Forum.

Lots of experience and helpful advice here but what you are asking covers a wide range so perhaps best to do some searching then ask for specific advice on items that you need information on.

This forum tends to deal with activities of outback trekking and vehicle preparation & management. There are other forums that specialise in caravans & motorhomes which may yield more information for you.

I drive a Troopy rigged for extreme off-road travel so cannot be much help to you but there may be others on here who can help. Anyway, good luck mate.

Cheers
Allan

Hi Hazza, welcome to the fold mate.

Plenty of good advice here and there is a heap of good info in the archives if you need anything extra. A google search will get you to many topics as well.

The brother and I have just about finished converting his American import motor home from LH drive to RH drive so we now have a wealth of knowledge and info on that little (not) exercise. It has taken a few years all up as only one or two days a week have been available for the project. He said he would never import again and I agree with him.

Anyway our first visit to the engineer happened about 2 weeks ago and we are working through the last of his requests at the moment. Should be registered and on the road by April.

Your idea is the best, get a good RH drive bus and convert the inside.
Apparently you only need a sink, a fridge and a bed to have it classed as a motor home for rego purposes, here in NSW anyway, not sure about QLD. though should be the same.

Here is a picture of the beast.

Good luck with it.
Cheers, Bruce.

Hi Hazza,

WE had to replace a sliding window on our Troopy, and wrote up how we did it in a blog here

Not a Coaster, but might give you some clues. Good luck.

Cheers,

Val
