I am trying to locate my power cable for my SPOT Gen 3. It appears to have the same input plug as my Inmarsat sat phone. However, I am not sure if it is OK to use it with my Gen 3.

For those that are using the 12 volt charger for their Gen 3, do you see anything that tells you that I am powering via 12 volts, eg should I see any flashing lights? Also does the power also charge my rechargeable batteries, or do I have to charge them in a separate charger?

It's a 5 volt Mini USB, should be ok to use the phones charger is it's the same.

Yes, my Sat phone plugs in OK, but I dont see it do anything. So am I suppose to see it powering the unit & does it charge my rechargeable batteries at the same time?

Just pulled out the batteries & the unit still works when connected to 12 volts so I now know that the cable works. Now testing the batteries to see if the voltage goes up when I run it.
