Hi there - I've just had a roof console made and the transceiver and remote head on my barrett 2050
HF radio have been separated to assist with layout.
I have a 10cm cable (too short) and a long cable (too long and bulky) that came with the Barrett.
I've got a whole bunch of ethernet cables floating around - one of which will be a more suitable length - will they do? or is there something special about the Barrett cable?

I spoke to Barrett direct a couple of years back because I had to re-rig my 950 system with a different length cable. I think the original was 6m but I needed 7m - ended up with a 10m from Lindy (on line supplier of all things electronic cabling - excellent service - fast delivery).
Can't find my specs right now but pretty sure it is described as a 'serial cable - STRAIGHT THROUGH wiring (as opposed to crossover wiring).
Mine came from this page here....
HERE.. Suggest you ask Barrett direct - the cable for the 2050 could
well be different in hookup to my 950. BOL.

Barrett support confirmed you can use a regular ethernet cable.
