Hi,
Planning a trip to the high country via Mt Stirling,
Bindaree Hut The Bluff, King Billy and may be in through
Lake Cobbler.
It's a return trip last travelled some 16 years ago and so would appreciate comment on condition (recent) of the following:-
-
The Bluff Link Road from
Bindaree Hut to
the Bluff,
- Access up to
Bluff Hut,
- Track condition from Lovick's to King Billy/ Helicopter Spur,
- King Billy Track to Macallister River,
- The Staircase ascent to Cobbler Lake Track,
- Howqua Gap Hut (from Circuit Rd) to summit of Mt Stirling and Clear Hills/ Monument Track.
As I mentioned I've travelled these tracks before but conditions will be much different now from then. I'm leaving early April
well before the
Easter rush. Thanks in anticipation,
Mike.

Up that way three weeks ago:
Bindaree Hut to
Bluff Hut via 16 Mile Jeep Track is in excellent condition.
Again, Lovicks through to King Billy is excellent apart from a few rocky sections.
Staircase ascent is painfully rocky any very slow going (SWMBO should wear a sports bra!).
Circuit Road was closed for repairs at about 3 kms east of Howqua Gap Hut (AND no advisory signage at either end).
Clear Hills, Mt Stirling & Monument Track all in excellent condition.
