Hi, I'm looking at taking 2 vehicles and camper trailers into Byfield NP and camping at Five Rocks Visitor Area. The national parks site says that the sites are only "suitable for camper trailers up to 3m".

3m is a mighty short camper trailer if you are including the drawbar!

Has anyone taken a camper trailer into Five Rocks campsite, and are the sites really that small ? And advice on which sites are better than others ?

Thanks

I haven't been there yet but I recently taped a Pat Callinan Mr 4x4 show where he took a camper trailer in behind his GU troll. You might be able to look it up to get some ideas he went to Byfield, Blackdown & Deepwater national parks.

Hi, according to the campsite map on this link, camp sites 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11 are suitable for 4WD vans and camper trailers. The first picture in that web page is of one of the campsites (one of 2, 3 or 4) - would that be large enough? You would certainly not want to book sites 6 - 8, since these were hardly even suitable for a small tent, last time we looked.

Cheers, John
