Hi All,
Sorry if this is repetitive but I'm after very recent info. I would like to replace current cranking and deep cycle batteries in 80 series diesel cruiser. I have been reading about CAT batteries. I'd be interested in the CCA 1000 for cranking. Can anyone tell me which one will fit in the battery tray without too many issues. Any info on the deeper cycle ones would be handy too.
Thanks in anticipation of your replies.

Hi Dougie,

I don't have your information available at the moment, I will have a look tonight and get back to you.
Tony's link to the CAT catalogue is interesting, though in the dimension area it only gives the height.
Do you have standard battery trays in your 80, or one standard and one aftermarket tray?

Cheers,
Wayne & Sally.

Thanks Tony and Wayne,
I'll be dropping into the closest dealer (Darwin) on Friday.
Left and Right battery holders are standard. Decided in Cat cranker and non cat marine battery for fridge etc.
I'll let you know how the Cat goes if anyone is interested.
Cheers
Doug

Hi Dougie,

The CAT 1000CCA battery - Part Number 115-2422 - is pretty much the same size as a standard battery. 17cm x 33cm x 24cm and weighs in at 27kg. It is 3cm wider than a standard battery, which may be an issue and a it is little higher which should not be an issue.
On the battery it states 90 AH CAP @ 20 hrs, not really sure what that refers to and I'm sure someone on this forum will.

List price is $226 and then add GST.

Hope this information helps a little and it will be interesting to hear if you buy two.

Cheers for now,
Wayne & Sally.
