What do you all think about installing a window mount air cond unit in a 2007 Jayco Swan Outback.
I was thinking about installing it at the rear or the van under the bed facing towards the front. The unit would be supported by the rear bar and i was thinking about using hi density foam under it as
well.

A friend of
mine installed a reverse cycle aircon (big box thing outside, small long rectangle thing inside.) on the front of an Eagle.
Works
well.
Obviously need power, and can't run off the 12volt system.

Rob,
From my experience, you'll be very disappointed in the air con performance, if you fit it anywhere near the floor. You would need a fan to try to circulate the air, to make yourself comfortable.
Far better option, as suggested, is to fit a split system. The indoor unit can be fitted as high as possible, and they give a greater variety of fan speeds, from "full noise" to ultra quiet.
"Wall-bangers" are just that, and even low speed on most of them, is about 8 on the Beaufort Scale.
Bob.
