Hi there, am intending to use the shortcut track from Bedunburra to
Beagle Bay in July this year . would really appreciate latest reports, opinions from ExplorOz travellers.
We are heading up to Kooljaman from Drysdale and prefer shortcut, rather than drive into
Broome.
Many thanks , Muz

I was going to do the same in reverse a few years back but couldn't confirm the start point - not signposted either. HEMA maps have it listed as ungazetted and on private land - they warn that insurers may not cover users (but that depends on the policy of course). It is a classic shortcut though !

Hi Muz.
We did it a few years ago so can't vouch for current conditions but I wouldn't expect much has changed.
The leg from the Hwy north is a good station road standard, but the leg to BBay is quite sandy. No probs if you keep the pressures down. It's a nice run.
The entry from the GN Hwy is at the 'coloured rocks' quarry and works.

Start Point for the Dampier Penin Bypass.

Gday Murray. We went past the turnoff a few days ago and the track is open, right next to the quarry sheds etc. its about 55km from Willare Roadhouse.
Cheers
