We are travelling to Arnhem Land in the near future, and have permits ro
camp at Wanuwuy. No trailers are permitted into this area, so we are limited to sleeping in the 4wd, on the roof (but didnt want to take the roof rack) or on the ground, either in a hiking tent or a swag.
Interested in hearing from anyone who has camped there and any comments about crocodiles. We have no idea how close the
camping area is to
the beach.
Apart from that, we cant wait.......

Hi, We were there last year and it is a magnificent coastline, but be prepared for wind, and to be disgusted at the rubbish washed ashore.
If I was doing it again not only would I
camp where the road ends ( at the
camp area) but also part way up where there are lovely areas under the trees. Explore the side roads.
We were in tents and were not worried about crocs as the camping is high up.
All the best, Graham.

Best camping (IMHO) is at the end of the track, there are a number of
camp areas and fireplaces. Crocs not an issue here - to rocky, but I would not swim just in case. Suggest you collect lots of wood before you come down the escarpment. Lots of heavy sand so you will need fairly low pressures. Its a great drive over to Delywoi Bay but be aware that big daddy of crocs lives about 500 metres from
the entrance on the Cape Arnham side.
