A lot of people have trouble getting the warranty on the items they have.

Rod, a guaranteed way of finding items that are lost, is to go and buy new ones.
Right after you plonk down the new ones on the bench, the old ones will mysteriously re-appear on the other end of the bench.
It's called gremlins - every workshop and shed has them. They hide stuff as soon as your back is turned, and then they bring them out again when you've stopped looking for them.
If you listen closely, you can hear the little barstewards giggling hilariously, faintly amongst the background noise, just as you pick up the old items and start cursing.
