An FYI for Spot 3 users - when using USB power, I was annoyed at having to restart
the Spot 3 every time I turned the vehicle off. Querying Globalstar, they advise that if
the Spot 3 is connected to USB and has batteries installed, the USB power takes precedence over the batteries. Thus you can leave the (very expensive) batteries in the device but they will only kick in when you've turned off the USB/vehicle. Good for short stops.
Further, there is no capacity to have
the Spot 3 start automatically as soon as external power is applied.
