Probably has something to do with the exorbitant prices the organisers want the exhibitor to pay..... And the general public to.... Little bang for your buck I suppose.
Could you imagine the public out cry if Myres or Harvey Normal charged customers to come in to their store when they had a sale on.

Ho Olcoolone,
Yes we would all scream and Meyer etc charged for entrance but Meyer etc still have to pay a lease to the landlord!

And exhibitors get their sites free?
Not b#@#*y likely
ARB would have made a business decision based on the costs to them against their possible sales and it came out as a negative value, so not worth the effort.
Besides everyone will still buy their products at their shops anyway.
Disco.

Hi olcoolone
Exactly! Why Penrith show can be entry free, and Rouse
Hill cost arm & leg? Lets face it after all it is just another shopping.
Cheers Dana

You have to remember these shows are run by "Event management" companies to make money..... they don't give a damn about 4x4ing or the people...just profit.
Home improvement, baby and wedding shows are all the craze and attract people who are willing to pay to by something they could of done for free.

The Penrith (at Panthers) show in September is no longer a free event. $10 admission to what has become a fairly poor showing.
The industry association now runs Penrith, pretty expensive site fees from what I've heard.

Thanks steamfire for letting me know. They "can see me there" ....
No way I pay for entry shopping market!
Ps. What's next?; will they charge as for Parklea and Flemaison (Flemington) markets?
Cheers Dana

I think ARB didn't attend as they were at the 'other' show a couple of months ago at the same venue, and also they appear to not like being up against the EMG owned SupaCentre. I did notice that there were several other major players not on the exhibitor's list for this show, which is a pity but understandable as it would cost a lot to put up an exhibit.

I think Geoff has hit the nail on the head.
Effectively the show scene has been divided between the other show and this one.
Which probably means both will lose money and ultimately fold.
I didn't bother going to either show this year, first time in years for me despite being in the market for a new camper trailer.

There was a reasonable spread of CT brands. Three or more 100% Aussie makes.
I go to do the research & sellers are usually in a mood to deal so you get an idea of the best price.

ARB
Kimberley etc etc have pulled out.
I refuse to go to it. Ridiculously priced
parking that is
miles away, half empty buildings and in a crappy location. If it's raining you get soaked going from building to building and to your car.
