G'day all,

I'm looking for a camper trailer and like the look of drifter campers and patriot campers. Could anyone that has one or seen them in use give me your thoughts and feedback. We are a family of 4 and currently tent our holidays.

Thanks

Mtb

MtB, I have a camper trailer similar to the Drifta and find it perfect for two people, think the annexe would be too small for another two to sleep in. (Depending on ages I suppose) If you are in Melbourne you can come and look at mine and trail it if you wish? Cheers.

Thanks John,

Not in Melbourne, but annexe size is a issue due to 12 and 9 YO.

Cheers,

Hi Mtb,

I have a Track T Van which is ideal for the two of us and we love it.

Depending on the size of the kids, will make a difference as to the size of camper you will need.

We can not fit our three 9 year old grand kids on the the hard floor area and have any access area, but lstill ove it for the boss and I.

Pling,

On our trip this year I spoke to many tvan owners and all spoke very highly off them. We were at Birdsville when the concert was on and passed 30+ in one day.

I replied to rum pig in post below regarding vans, have you thought about a caravan instead of the tvan?

Thanks,

Mtb

G'day rum pig,

Thanks for info regarding my swag forum. Over the last week we have been also discussing off-road vans as well, eg jayco expanda outback.

A couple of mates have gone to vans from trailers and when they did Cape York, left vans in Cook town and tented for 10 days, returning to collect vans heading to gulf country.

More options......

Cheers,

Mtb

Hi,
I'm very interested in getting the Patriot. Had a long discussion with them at the Melbourne show. The family size tent easily fits two stretches in the second bedroom.

It is also a tough trailer and will go anywhere. Nice article i n the new CamperTrailer magazine.

G'day,

Thanks for your reply, I brought the magazine 4 days ago. I've also been looking at kimberley kampers. The classic is $35000. Have you looked at these?

Cheers,

I did. I don't like them much. The hard floor campers that open to the back are nice for a quick setup but not so good if you need to set up the awning and tent, I think.

Good point, pity they don't have a Victorian agent, would like to view again, instead of online.
