I was reading the park notes on the Vic Alpine National Park today and it mentions that fires are only allowed in provided
camp fire locations within the park.
I am sure that even 6 months ago I read that
camp fires were allowed subject to size, season, fire bans etc provided you clean an area around the fire of leaves etc and contain it with rocks etc.
Has this always been the case? Or is this another regulation by stealth in our Parks?

After posting, I went back to the Parkweb site and saw the photo on this page.
Even their own website shows a camper built fireplace.
