Viia Anne Beadell Hwy,
Connie Sue Hwy and Great Central Rd from
Perth to Alice, September 2014.
First night at
Leonora started with a surprise for the German visitors - Skimpies at the local pub - welcome to the rough mining country. Next day via
Laverton into the
Anne Beadell highway. Surprisingly good road. The
grader must have been just though it. Second night at Yeo Station, really nice and clean with good water and even a basic shower. Next morning we continue to Neal
Junction. Still a good and wide road - nearly too good for a real Bush adventure.

At Neal
Junction a left turn into the Connie Sue Highway. Finally a tough road. Partly corrugated party sandy and narrow. Adventure here we come!! The first tire blows - the visitors realize the flat too late - tire is gone, the rim is damaged. No worries the spare tire does the job! We stay overnight some 100ks north of Neal
junction. Real
bush camping with
camp fire, bbq and a few beers.

Fourth day we continue the Connie Sue. Partly soft and sandy, partly horrible corrugations. We see camels and amazing wild flowers. Then the bad news: Another tire is loosing air. But only slowly. The compressor does the job and we continue checking the tire every 30min. We finally make it to the GCR and find help in
Warburton.
John the local mechanic is a soul of a man and we can continue 20h later with a repaired rim and 5 good tires.

The GCR is in quite good condition until the border to NT. In the Northern Territories the road is horribly corrugated and we are more then happy to arrival at
Yulara back on Bitumen.
