Bloody Nissan have it so their the only ones that can sort it, in regard to pulsars etc.
Wondering whether if you replaced from a wreck same yr model ECU, Immobiliser, with the keys, would this work or would it have to be programmed to suit?
I'm a electrical Moron So stop laughing!.
Cheers Axle.

Usually on newer cars you have to get a full unit Ignition barrel, Keys etc.
Sometimes on older cars you can get a key programmed to the car by the dealer.
Dont know about yours but a friends Kia is $300+ for a remote and programming.
My VW is about $400 plus programming
Wifes VX Berlina was $90 to get new key programmed by the dealer.

I still use a steel bar with a moveable clamp that fits over brake pedal or clutch pedal and locks securely into place...This is even on a brand new 2014 pajero...Its old fashioned technology but simple..

Tom, the local privately owned hardware store just up the road from me.
Axle you cheeky bugger lol. Actually the last one. You may remember, all the years began with 19.
Bigfish, I'm looking for the "like" button.
Yeah I know my old Cruiser could be hot wired and taken by the average 13 year old delinquent. Funny thing is, none have so far bothered (;=))
Cheers
Pop

The immobiliser on my Cruiser has recently started playing up whilst I was 2000 klms from
home, it is pretty much a simple solenoid on the back of the fuel pump that won't work when the engine gets warm (vehicle winds over but no fuel gets pumped through).... $800 for a new one I read and anti removal screws used to hold it in place, or smash it apart and bypass it which takes some fun to do due to it's location. The only electronic thing on my engine pretty much and causes all sorts of drama at the moment. A ice cold bottle of water poured over it seems to get it working for now, though starts fine first thing each morning or when vehicle left long enough to cool right down.
