Just purchased 1996 80 series Diesel Cruiser
Mice keep getting in the Air Conditioner Blower Unit and I am unable to determine their entrance path
They die in the Blower fan and stink the Car out
Problem number two is the actual air conditioner seems to operate but it takes hours in this weather to become cool
Dont know wether its up to scratch or Like my 2000 Hilux and is just pathetic

Hi JR,
Can't help with the mice problem........... don't keep grain there??................ sorry 'bout that.
80 Series Air Con ............ maybe.
You will need to take it to an air con GURU.
No location is given, so help is hard to find.
Recover the gas in system,
Pressure
test the system,
Re - gas the system.
If this works, please let me know.
Cheers,
Wayne & Sally.

Install cat (or snake, but some people prefer cats for some reason).
Strange them wanting to get in there though, you'd think they would prefer some other place to a car insides to make a
home.
Air con may need total overhaul, gas, drier, condensers sometimes get issues, can get pricey.
Check condenser core for blockages (insects, seeds, plant matter, mud, birds and small marsupials, etc).
If the condenser has a separate fan, ensure this is working.

hi
aircon issues
1st 75 series and 80 series cruiser are some of the best aircon units going period .
Cannot verify later units .eg 100/200 series
Generally u will get away with a receiver drier and a regas under normal operating conditions under 2000,000kms
Over 200,000kms r/drier, evaporater will need replacement due to fins being slightly clogged with moist material and causing it to rot away . Always do TX valve with evap core.
Do all o rings in all joins
compressor discharge hose will probably need replacing [most makes leak from high pressure. 80 series typically r ok ]
condenser will need to be free from bugs etc and good fins
remove and flush condenser with a flush or shellite in a ""kero"" gun .
The compressor is best removed flushed and reoiled with the CORRECT AMOUNT of ester refrigerant oil Ester oil =134a gas
Flush all remaining refrigerant lines 1x solid liquid line ,1x flex suction line
Replace the low pressure switch in the evap box
MISC engine viscous hub needs to be in good condition
When reassembly leak
test all areas and joins
U will need to
check compressor 4 leaks and noise [internally and clutch bearings ]
Recon nip denso compressors are available
