Comment: Mount Augustus WA - (How to use an Oztent as a life raft!)

Reading the first paragraph of your blog brought back memories of our trip to Mt Augustus a couple of years ago Mick. We inadvertently did the same, and put a peg right through the water pipe when we set up the awning of the van. It didn't leak until we were packing up and in just a few minutes water was pouring out of the ground and pooling over a large area. The young Irishman who was in charge seemed to have little idea of doing the repairs and we left him to it. We often have a laugh about it.
We did the walk to the Summit and it was well worth the exertion. Fantastic views in all directions.
regards,
Heather

Happened to me in Kununnurra. You'd think they would put the pipes at least 40cm down wouldn't you. A good area to explore Heather.
