Planning to be in
Broken Hill JULY/04 FOR THE VKS-737 get together and being this far west would like to have a look around. Planning to visit
Bourke for a day then head down the Darling via
Louth and
Tilpa to Wicannia staying 2 nights somewhere along this road. Our van is semi off road Supreme Territory so we can
camp anywhere with our own batteries etc. Have read that
Trilby is a good site. Has anyone got any info on this road and any advice would be appreciated.
Plan to
camp north side of Wicannia (due to comments on previous posts) and then head to
Broken Hill.
Tks.Rgds

Find time to head out of
Broken Hill to
Silverton...the
cemetery has some interesting headstones that give you a sense of just how tough it was.

Hi Bob & Lorraine
The road from
Bourke to
Wilcannia is a great drive. Slow down for the cattle grids they can be fairly rough just before and after.
Trilby is a good spot and very
well set up for travellers. The road was pretty good around Xmas but
check locally for an update. Some really good spots to
camp on the river about 30 kms out of
Wilcannia ( East side of the river)
Have a good trip hope this is some help.

Hi
The drive down through
Louth and
Tilpa is a good run and the road is genraly in good condition.
Tilpa would be a good place to stay...

Thanks all for the information that is coming in. We are looking to stay 2 nights, undecided whether
Tilpa or
Trilby or may spend 1 night in each area. All advise is greatly appreciated
