No worries Steve. Before Chris saw the photos he explained that camels with no humps have usually never had one to begin with - their formative years are critical to their lifelong health - if they don't get enough suckling from their mother they miss important antibodies and suffer the rest of their life. He originally said that her parents could have been killed during the fire, and that given camels have strong creche instincts she might be being surrogated by the other 2 - however camels cannot nurse another youngster but will bring it into their herd and protect it. When he saw the pics however he focussed on her apparent recent condition being a new mother. So when you put the whole story together it's rather sad but that's life in the wild!.
