Hi Neil,
I was a farmer long before everyman and his dog had 4x4 and we used chains on our 1 ton 2wheel drive utes in all sorts of
places . Don't know about sand I think they would just dig a hole but in mud that has any substance or on just slippery ground they are great. I never owned a 4x4 till I sold the
farm . And you can believe me I farmed some rough (hilly) and slippery country. Ed
