Interesting read, I also have had many images poached, I have seen some in advertising material on line and in print, mainly in the tourism sector, I was not overly concerned at first because there use was tasteful and factual, but I have since seen an image of
mine shown and claimed to be "his" ~ oddly enough no one has ever asked permission from me to use my images.
As for the Royal Flying Doctor donation angle, depending on how the donation is made and on who's behalf it is made, it can come back to bight you in the bum ~ hard !
Many years back I was part of a work group in the mining industry, that had excelled in a safety initiative and we "the chosen ones" were to be presented with a prize, that being a couple of bottles of Chivas Regal or an equivalent amount in boxes of beer, a nice gesture they thought, but me being a non drinker of alcohol suggested the dollar value of the prize be donated to the R.F.D.S. ~
well that was done and I was rightly chuffed that the dollars went to a very noble institution, but the R.F.D.S. have hounded me ever since for more donations.
Safe travels : Joe Fury

Thanks Joe,
Drop an image of yours in Google and you’ll soon see who is using it. The thing to bear in mind about commercial use is they are making money from it. Mind you I do not spend a too much time looking for them myself, but only if I happen across them.
On the RFDS, I have them make the donation in their own name, but noting I’m a regular monthly contributor to the RFDS – being a traveller in this great country of ours, seeing the people the RFDS support, makes me proud and happy to be able to contribute to the cause…
And I recently looked at your site, very professional and insightful!
Cheers, Baz
