Michael this has already been posted on the forum a week ago.

Cheers

He can be forgiven for double posting something like this. I would never have thought to do a search for a article prior to posting a article, neither would I go back 3 or 4 pages of recent posting. But thats me.

Having said that, the forum has been running for that long that I'm guessing every post on here has been doubled, tripled, quadrupled etc.

No big deal.

What Cruiser said.

When any forum runs for as long as this, and some others that I look in on now and then, trying to find subject matter that hasn't been covered in one form or another gets more and more difficult.

I mean how many times and ways can you ask about sola, battery, fridge, tyres, roof top tents, which gear to tow in, which vehicle to buy, etc, etc, etc.

Thats the beauty of repeat questions from time to time Pop. I look at it this way.
There are new products on the market all the time.
These new products become aged over time.
New people join the forum all the time, with possibly new and different experiences about these same products.
New people join and don't use search................no big deal, if we all used search all the time the forum possibly wouldn't get used often and new information wouldn't make it here.
Everyone is different.
I guess we are lucky to have a site such as this that can help out anyone and everyone when they need it.

Yeah, absolutely.

Maybe just to clarify my last statement "I mean how many times"....etc.

I certainly wasn't trying to say anyone shouldn't ask. New stuff keeps showing up to do what looks like the same job. Area particular info changes from time to time as well.

Maybe a classic example is the Friday Funnies. Some jokes come up again and again. Some weren't particularly funny the first time and still not funny. Others are quite amusing even after a few trips around the block, so to speak.

Ya think something has been said or pointed to before, just move on.
There's plenty of other stuff to keep us informed, amused, or whatever.

Look at it this way................

If you are at the pub with some mates and ask a question, no-one says "I've already answered that a few weeks ago .... go search the internet".

Amazing how often people say that, must expect everyone to search the forum before they post anything - just in case...

I didn't see the post a week ago; but, since I had no idea it was posted a week ago had I done a search I wouldn't have known what to search for. Thanks for re-posting!

I find two of the problems with most forums, if one searches for a subject that has been previously posted, are ...

1. The search engine on most forums is poor and doesn't pick up the post - but a Google search using "exploroz" and the search term is usually much more effective.

2. People post subjects using odd titles. So you can have a subject such as the above "rookie error" story - and someone will post the story with a title stating, "Look at this!".
In that case, you have little chance of finding the story again!
On that basis, when posting articles, it's important to have the title include the basic information provided or required in the post, in the title!

Cheers, Ron.
