Heading to
St Lawrence free camp just after
Easter and would like to know if anybody has camped there recently as i spoke to a traveler who said he thought it was closed due to the storms of late,any
feedback would be very much appreciated.

I think I read a media report that the
camp is open but is no longer free but $10 a night. We drove in a year or so ago and found it very crowded with many people obviously set up for lengthy stays. We did not stay. Perhaps if a fee is to be charged the set up might become a bit more organised and fewer people will stay long term. It seems the local council is cracking down on
free camping generally so perhaps you should
check with them. Lynne
