We visited "The Monument" back in 1998 when my wife's cousin worked at the local phosphate
mine. At that stage I understood that the local town was located on private property. We were blissfully unaware of this when we arrived & in the process caused a major security breach. We arrived at the Rangers Station to get directions to the
mine & he was already out of his office to meet us.
The moment I dug for my camera to take a shot of "The Monument" the
Ranger respectfully suggested that if I took out my camera out he'd have to confiscate it. I wonder if things have changed since then?
