Can any members comment on these Aussie drawers - apparently much lighter being made of ply than ARB or TJM systems which are of metal. They look great on Youtube but would like to hear some positive
feedback before getting these to fit
the tub on the new Amarok.

Hi Alex, we had drawers made for our Pajero over 4 years ago by Luke and they have worked a treat. Ours includes a fridge slide on one side and two drawers with a slide out table on the other which can all be removed and used as a standalone kitchen. The workmanship has been excellent and with all the travel we do they've held up
well. No issues at all. As Drifta was too far away from us in SA when we were ready to place an order, we only had to provide Luke with the measurements and he had them made and shipped them to us.

Thank you so much Linda for your response. We, like you, would have to do a DIY installation, but obviously this has not proved too onerous and the end result very satisfactory. We've yet to do our complete fitout of this new vehicle and it is difficult to choose which particular products are going to be the lightest but also the most efficient and these sound as though they match all round. Cheers, Penny (wife of himself).

Hi Linda,
We too have a Pajero and are in SA and I have always debated about losing the under floor storage when putting in a drawer system (hence we haven't done anything yet) so I was wondering how you treated this and found a solution so it is still accessible or have you accepted the fact that you have lost that space?
Thanks in advance, Lloyd

Hi Lloyd,
You don't need to lose the under floor storage at all!
When we travelled Oz with our caravan in 2010/11, we were pretty
well packed to the hilt! My other half kept all sorts of goodies in the under floor storage section - I guess they were items that he didn't plan to use on a regular occasion (given their location). When we did need to access that area, it was a matter of removing the LHS bottom drawer and reaching in which was easily achieved.
In the case where the item needed was under the fridge side, it may have not easily been accessible, but it wasn't impossible. We would reach in from under the LHS drawer so we only put larger items there which could be easily grabbed. I think smaller items would have been harder to locate (and my arm is only so long)!
So don't think you need to lose the under floor storage - that's one great selling point of the Paj. It just requires a little planning of what you place in that storage area.
Linda.

Its the little bits of detail that count , such as a cutout in the side wall so that you can still access the 'hidey holes [ jack +tool storage ] without to much drama , try pulling a full metal draw out to access it just ain't gonna happen ,whereas with the Drifta being relatively light and only needing to undo the spring loaded stop lock you can easily get access ,,, 1/2 the price [ even with freight ] of the way over priced steel units …..
