A very good morning to all.
As the title suggests, I have a countdown clock running in the background on the computer. At the moment it tells me that I have 511 hours before I officially retire and join the old folk on the pension. I am selling the trusty Trak Shak and replacing it with a second hand AOR Quantum that I will collect from the present owners in Qld early next month. It will have a full service at AOR before coming
home to our place in NSW.
I hope to do some volunteer work with Blazeaid in central Qld at either
Julia Creek or
Hughenden later this year and then be back
home as the weather warms and get on the the house painting - too cold to even think about it at present.
Next year, health permitting I'd like to start the 6 month trip to the west so we will see how that pans out.
More so I look forward to meeting new people and seeing new
places.
See you on the tracks.
PS Thanks to EO for drawing my name in the monthly draw - woohoo.
Cheers

I can relate to that. One more trip in the truck next week and I retire as
well. 6 months on the road the next week after. Can't wait, but I gest I will have to. Errol

Good luck with retirement,
John.
Good to have some active plans, such as Blazeaid, or a part time job, as it helps in the transition from your working life. Didn't realise BlazeAid was up this far, in Julia Ck 'n
Hughenden area. No doubt assisting graziers with the drought?
I "retired" in Jan, '09, and have been working full time and part time since. Starting to ease off a bit lately, and have done some short trips away. Off to
Birdsville this arvo for the Big Red Bash. :-)
The Quantum will be a good acquisition.......make travelling very easy.
Enjoy,
Bob

You lucky buggers. I retired near the end of May this year, on a Thursday. Friday the phone rang hot and after taking June off travelling, I am now booked out for work for the next 8 months. Mind you, I am a money slut and the offers were to good to say no to.
