G'day All

I currently have a Garmin emap Gps and was just wondering if the DiscoverAus street map cd produced by Magellin would be compatible and if it isnt is there any way around it?

Cheers

Paul - it is not compatable and the only way around it is to purchase a Magellan (Meridian, Sportrack or M330). I think it is possible to use DiscoverAus in moving map/gps log mode via GPS/Laptop with any GPS that dishes out standard NMEA data.

Pauly,

Magellan products won't work with the Emap. I believe the only maps set that is compatible with it is MapSource Metroguide.

If that map set is no sufficient for your needs, then you're probably better off obtaining a more capable GPS or hooking it up to a laptop and running the maps from there.

Mapsource Metroguide Australia is Garmins equivalent of Magellans DiscoverAus GPSr loadable mapping CD.

MGA is $179.

You will also need a data card for the Emap and a serial data cable to transfer the maps.

MGA is 48 MB for all of Australia. NSW is 16 MB. You can load just the segments that you need up to the capacity of your data card.
