Hi all. Getting down to the last to do before we head of up north. I have checked in the archives but can not find anything on how to reajust the headlights. I can remember seeing in a garage a yellow board with black lines on it reposition the lights but that was long time ago. Has any one got the proper formula, web sites or other information for Nissan Terrano? Thanks in anticipation.

should be in the archives somwhere coz this subject has come up a few times. but anyway forget the boards lines garages or whatever and drive down a little used road (at night) and throw your jacket over one light while adjusting the other then go for a quick drive to confirm you are happy with it then make any further(small adjustments. make sure you allow for the xtra weight you may be carrying up north
and carry a torch for finding the adjusting screws/bolts and make sure you know where they are and they are working and not seized as it is a pain mucking around with this sort of thing on the side of the road in the dark --- have a good trip

4wd
forum, not filled with scientists...
You can actually buy the machine that they use when you have a car inspected, $2800 for them, and considering yo u would only use it once in 10 years.. good investment,

The best answer was the first answer .... do it on a quiet road. I always did it that way when I wa a kid.
I have a Terrano 2 & recently asked the auto elec about headlight adjust ... he said .... " do it on a quiet road"! Which is how he does his own!
BTW .... Terrano 2 inherently has sh**house lights !!!!!!

You can get it pretty close using this method:
1) Find a vertical wall near a flat, level surface - driveway or
carpark etc.
2) Drive the vehicle right up to the wall, and mark the exact position of each headlight on the wall.
3) Backup about 5 metres and adjust the headlights on high beam so that the brightest point of light is on the cross marks.
I always follow this up with a
check as described above, but it will give you an acceptable adjustment on its own.
Cheers,
Pete
