Interesting Statistics

Think about this:
A. The number of physicians in the US is 700,000.
B. Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year is 120,000.
C. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.
(US Dept. of Health & Human Services)

Then think about this:
A. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000.
B. The number of accidental gun deaths per year is 1,500.
C. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner 0.0000188.

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous
than gun owners are.

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.
Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.

We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand.

As a public health measure, I have withheld the statistics on
lawyers for fear that the shock could cause people to seek medical attention.

G Day Rosco,

Does that mean that if I have a problem, I am better off seeing a Gun owner than a doctor.

cheers.

Rosco,

I guess the rest of us, bearing in mind the US statistics you provide us with so thoughtfully, are just so happy that Brisbane is closer to the US than most of the rest of us.

You keep close mate....

What about the non-accidental gun deaths? That might skew the figures a bit.
Those who say something cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.

You would just move the accidental deaths ..including non accidental approx one decimal point...still a lot lower than medical

but then again if you removed the illegal firearm holders from the equation it would be very much lower...

Another interesting stat. from the US of A is that in cities where the carrying of guns is legal, deaths are fewer than where it's illegal! Try the death rate in Washington and Chicago!!!!!
As all law makers and supposed law enforcers have failed to take guns off crims., they take them off law abiding licenced gun owners instead.
The Auditor General in WA says that WA is a safer place now they've taken licenced guns off licenced mostly law abiding gun owners, yet the murder rate by gun wielding crims. has gone up.
I wonder if he'd use the same twisted logic to fiddle figures if they took cars off lunatics and the death rate on the roads went up?
I reckon he ought to stick to bean counting.
