Well i am sitting down infront of my computer and having a rest after a eventfull day. As most of you know , I work as a wholesaler here in Melbourne . I parked my car at one of the warehouses that I deal with , to come back and find all my GPS gear gone . The blood went straight to my head , after been held down by a couple of fellow wholesalers , the manager walked up and informed me that they had fitted out the whole building with the state of the art security cameras. So I spend 2 hrs tracking who walked up to my vehicle .
Well guys at 12: 44 the camera showed we the P**K the ripped me off . Tracked him trough the building and back to his car . The front camera got his numberplate.
After 5 phonecalls to other fellow wholesalers we tracked down who they were . A phonecall was then made to them , telling them that they were busted , I offered them that i wouldn't call the cops if the gear was returned . They turned up in 10 min. with my stuff. They offered a explanation that it was a joke gone wront , this pi**ed me off even more . Once again I had to be held back by a couple of fellow wholesalers .
They have banned from all wholesale areas in Melbourne and i am meeting with police tomorrow to make a statement .

Sorry guys if I have bored anyone , but I felt great to catch the b****rds

Eric, that's the kind of news that makes my job worthwhile! (I sell security cameras!) :-)
We cop a lot of flack about "big brother" and I'm glad that those guys watching you do the right thing also got the mungrols doing the wrong thing!

Good luck with the coppers, probally won't do much though, you did the best thing you could and delt with it yourself in a sensible and as calm a way as you could.

Good work mate and all the best!

Gee Eric...you have lotsa luck...all bad. First the car and now this. Lucky break with the cameras. Hope they didn't damage your truck. Was it locked?

If you want a sea change, there is always a place somewhere in a quiet country town :-)))

Cheers

Eric,
There's something to be said for the Big Brother world we now live in.
Pity that some of its residents are the low-lifes that they are.
Well done! I'd dine out tonight on the strength of that.

Here Here Gob, that's it mate. I hate to say it, but he's right, they will probally walk. At leat this way eric's not going to run the risk of any of them tracking him down and giving him a work over back, but on the other hand it's a shame they didn't get the bejevous beat out of them...

for all that know me personaly , know its not over by a long shot . These clowns are known to me and onthers in the industry . The wholesale industry although been very big , is also very small if you know what I mean. They were told never to step in the wholesale yard that it happened in . They tried to use another wholesaler as a excuse , saying that they thought it was there car and were playing a joke . The other wholesaleyard found out and mentioned they dont know them that well for this to have happened . They are banned from there also now . There doors in Melbourne will shut one by one . Lucky for me I have a lot of respect in the industry and everyone has rang to support me in all ways . I will humiliate this person everywere i see him . I am a little carmer now than I was 5 hrs ago . To watch him cry like a baby infront of many people today was enough to make me happy . I guarranty they will get away with anything , ill make sure of that .

I am nearly with you Truckster but it is much more refreshing doing it in a dark lane with no witness's at all.

Much more satisfying.

Eric, I am pleased you were able to get the police work done ealy and get your gear back. I guess they will want to see all the evidence and may want to use it for you in guidance to court for the crims.

Good luck there mate, it would be teriffic to see the justice applied. You never know what other stuff the police may find there. You may still want to pull their electricals but probably best to let the law do it and keep on their best side. Save up for a weekend checkover then ;-) No canaries hopefully in the forest then.........

Stuff like that peeves me too.... you just don't expect stuff like that to happen in Melbourne......maybe in Berri or somewhere like that ...but Melbourne (&*)*#^%.

Seriously, it is stuff like that happening that takes some of the please out of having a 4wd or going camping. Nothing worse that worrying about your gear or your car while you are out having a look at something. The police should come down pretty heavy on the low lifes.

Sorry to astonish you. And Jen said to "think of her". Dunno what she is hoping???????

I meant that places like Berri in Western Australia might not be as safe as Melbourne.... Oh - I guess you thought I meant your Berri!!

Good work buddy, send e'm packing with their tail between their legs, as you recovered the gear yourself the cops probably won't do much, but at least you can put e'm out of buisness for being a lowlife scumbag with no respect for others property.. Then again you could take a leaf from the middle east and cut their hand off !!

Eric,
Glad that you were ableto get your gear back and to straighten the mongrels out by all means march the guilty B******* off to the paddy wagon . Unfortunately the long arm of the law wont have much of a say in retribution as some nancy pansy magistrate will let them go home to there way of life with just a smack on the back of the legs. Its about time they got honest with dealing out justice.

I reckon you guys are bit a bit to harsh on these poor unfotunate people who have to do this sort of thing so they can afford to live............. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!. keeping up with the trend of political correctness there used to be a thing in the Army called contact counselling which seemed to work really well. Unfortunately now you would just be hauled up on an assault charge and get dealt with harsher than these other B*****d's for taking the law into your own hands. Don't let them get away with it.
