Al & Mrs Al (Vic)
Well Al and Wombat have been working feverishly in the shed these past few weeks finishing up those little jobs that need to be done to hopefully make our trip a bit easier - ...and I must say Wombat seems really pleased with his new legs…they certainly work
well – fast too :)) now they’re talking about an electronic aerial from the roof of the camper – which quite frankly sounds like a phallic symbol to me..but that’s boys…
A number of people contacted me to say that they would be on the road as the same time as us… we will be pretty easy to spot – Pewter 100TDLC – with EO stickers side and rear & EO wheel cover on rear wheel, towing Roadstar poptop –with 2 spares on back with EO wheel covers and also “Grierson Engineering” sticker on rear. Wombatmobile is Purple [sorry Bordeaux] Triton Dual Cab towing Coromal silhouette windup camper trailer…
Here are the dates when we’ll be in the Major Centres…our departure date from Romsey is June 10…

Lyn,
Sounds like a fantastic trip you mob have planned there.
I have got to wait until September before I go away, but am getting in early with all the set up jobs that need doing on the Hilux. Don't want to be welding the night before like I was on the last trip.
cheers,
Sam.

So I take it that you will be by-passing the rural metropolis of
Peterborough as it did not rate a mention in your itinerary............???
Please tell Big Al to tek screw everything down inside the van as once you get past
Lyndhurst a rude awakening of outback road conditions will be there to meet you.
Cheers xxxxxxxx

Hi Lyn,
Sounds like a super trip you have planned. And since preparation is half the fun I gather Al is enjoying himself already. Hope you're planning on keeping a journal so us poor souls stuck at
home can live the trip vicariously with you LOL.

Mildura on the 17th July and still have a weeks A/L after spending 3 weeks crossing the Simpson and visiting the
Flinders Ranges, maybe we could catch up on the 19th in

Hi Lyn, you guys will have a great time. We liked
Litchfield better than
Kakadu as its less crowded. When we went it was the end of the wet & the roads to the falls in
kakadu were closed so I flew over them & it was brilliant with tons of water coming off the plateau but Lex would'nt fly in small planes then & missed out , not like now were she hangs out of choppers with no doors to take photos.
