I know there are a lot of threads on this. But the search function on this new "user friendly" website seems to be designed for someone either under 15 years of age or with an IQ higher than mine. Anyhow, how to users feel about the Webasto diesel cooktop. Am I better of with gas?

Diesel cook tops tend to be slow to start and to respond.
Gas as a fuel is quick, clean, quiet, heavy (because of the container) and expensive by comparison.

International travellers tend to avoid gas because of availability and lack of bottle fitting commonality. These are not generally issues in Australia.

With respect Keith, click on the magnifying glass icon in the blue header, click into the white bar and type "Webasto" then enter and you will be presented with a list of possible sources. Click on your source choice (in this case "Forum") and you will have all the threads.
As EO David showed.

Thanks Allan,
Turns out I was doing it right, but searching on "Diesel Cook Tops" - which gave no joy and I thought it was my fault for not using the site properly. Thanks for the heads up.

Keith, it pays to try a few different words/descriptions when using the search.
Particularly if your first description does not produce results.
Just a little persistence required with any search function.

Thanks John.
My wife says I need to learn some patience.
So I'm trying to find a crash course.

You do have some justification Keith.
When using the EO search function, "Diesel Cook Tops" returned two results, but using Google with the search reference of "Exploroz diesel cooktops" returned six results on EO forum, plus a lot of other returns on other sites.

After the initial cost it's all good, slow to heat as others have said but very economical, likely to remain so compared to rising lpg prices. We use ours for most meals, even the camp oven to do roasts etc.
You do get used to turning it on as you start to prepare for meals but it is only a minute or so before it can be used. At least it can't kill you with its exhaust or fuel like gas.

Hi Peter,
It's Keith again thanking you once for for your rely on my water/space heater post. Three questions if I may:
1. Is the cooker hot enough to do a stir fry with a big pan or dies it just stew away quietly?
2. Is there much noise with the silencer fitted?
3. Is the water and space/heater silent?
Many thanks
Keith
