A great looking product, but I have been a little disappointed in that the external vinyl coating on the tread cover section seems to last for a maximum of two years in the sun (on my caravan spare wheels, at least in summer for 3-4 hours per day) before it becomes brittle and cracks across the most exposed area. This cracking is exacerbated whenever the cover is removed and replaced on the wheel. Perhaps this is par for the course in WA's climate. Is there any recommended treatment to prevent this or at least delay it as long as possible (e.g. some sort of spray on silicone)?

Helmick,
I use Armour All on
mine but it is not parked outside all the time either. But the sun is very harsh and 2 years without some form of treatment is not bad going IMO. Try Armour All or a silicon spray it just needs something to keep the material soft.
