Chris use this site apart from the
forum.
Go to On the Road at top of page and follow the HTML from there. Gives you an up to date report on popular roads and tracks.
Cheers

Chris,I went through there last year in early Sept. and alyhough Iwas not towing anything you should have no worriies at all as they have done a lot of work to the roads there over the years and it is nothing like it used to be.Hells
Gate is a good place to spend a night with a good meal and
camp site at reasonable cost--enjoy
p.s. Iwill be going through there again this year as I love it in the Gulf country.

Chris,
I drive from
Normanton to
Doomadgee every month for my work. The biggest danger on that stretch are the dips, most of them are
sign posted but there is one bad one about 160km from
Normanton without a
sign. I thought I'd ripped the running gear off the Patrol when I hit it on my first run up there! Also watch out for some of the bridges as with some you hit them just coming out of corners. Beetling along at 100K or so & a bit wide on the corner and to suddenly see a long narrow single lane
bridge over croc infested water can be a sobering experience.
